Athletics

Unique to the Diocese of El Paso is the Catholic Schools Athletic League (CSAL). This sports division is made possible by the cooperative effort of Diocesan schools to host after-school sports programs for their students. All sports activities are considered school functions.

Basketball, Volleyball, and Soccer Sports are available at St. Patrick Cathedral School to interested students in Grades 5-8. Children who participate in athletics foster learn valuable life lessons such as teamwork, camaraderie, and hard work, while enjoying healthy competition within a positive environment. Some students move on to compete in sports at the high school level when they are introduced to individual and team sports at a young age.

Athletics is designed to promote good sportsmanship, develop physical coordination and give the participants the opportunity to meet and enjoy new friends and, in doing so, enrich their lives. All students participating in sports activities must follow the rules and regulations approved by the diocesan principal's for interscholastic sports.

When a coach is available, golf and cheerleading is also offered, and, if there is enough interest, students in the third and fourth grades may participate in soccer!

Our St. Patrick Cathedral School Athletic Director is Coach Brianna Gonzalez, who can be contacted at [email protected].
